oh wow. this update.

To be honest i’ve expected something like this to happen? I mean, it was hinted at for a while, that they would end up dating, and then at the very LEAST when we saw the relationship between Rufioh and Horuss… I ship DirkJake, definitely. But Jake had his grandmother at some point, while Dirk hasn’t… really… experienced being close to someone like this.

I just hope it works out. If it doesn’t, well, we still have fanfics and fanart, right?

i mean, some people hate the shit out of Gamzee because he killed like two trolls, and did some other shit, but… i mean, you can’t just love one character and hate another when the…

I think there are a few differences with Gamzee that affect people’s interpretations of him.

1) He lived. There was no revenge or death like there was for Eridan’s and Vriska’s murders.

2) No remorse. Terezi and Vriska displayed mixed feelings about their murders, and Eridan’s remorse or lack thereof hasn’t been shown because Eridan is dead and no longer seems to play a role in the plot.

3) Like you said, Gamzee killed trolls that the fans were emotionally attached to.

I think the first two factors are the largest reasons for the discrepancies between feelings towards Gamzee versus the other trolls. Gamzee wasn’t killed, he was shoosh papped. He was a Karma Houdini, and the fans wanted him to pay. And Caliborn’s shooting seems to have provided some retribution.

Attitudes towards Caliborn is a bit different because he is still a fairly new character and his personality has been set up to be evil and harsh from the beginning. There was no betrayal because Caliborn was semi-psychotic to begin with. While people were still upset, they weren’t exactly shocked by Caliborn killing Calliope.

Oh wow, yeah. You’re definitely right about all of that. I really like Gamzee, myself. Maybe I’m just sort of sick of seeing everyone constantly berate on characters… especially when they’re pleased when those characters experience pain. I just love all of the characters. Haha, yeah.

I don’t know, I mean, almost every troll has murdered others or treated them abusively, cruelly… and some of them have made huge mistakes. Also, about every character has been adorable, or sweet, in some way, i think.

i just find it weird when people hate Gamzee for like, killing two people and then adore, i dunno, Vriska, Terezi, Feferi… who have all killed a VERYYY large number of trolls, from what I remember. I mean, I can see how it’s different; because the characters Gamzee killed were characters we felt close to emotionally. Also, his intentions weren’t to feed his lucus, or whatever. but

i read some stuff where some guy said that the hurricane happened because of gay rights. Someone might say this is overreacting, but that sort of sounds like Hitler. You know, ‘oh, we lost. also, i don’t like these guys. HEY. IT’S THEIR FAULT THEN! It all makes SENSE now!’

okay. it’s kind of slightly different. i’m just saying, some things just happen. don’t go around blaming groups of people because you don’t like those the event and the group, that doesn’t make them related.
